Bring Q to a Google Meet call
Use the restricted pilot to invite Q, confirm the audience and direct a bounded working session.
Restricted to approved pilot accounts. Google Meet admission, spoken input, an audible Q reply and removal have been checked. Computer work, meeting presentation, spoken revision and save/reopen still need full live-call acceptance.
Before the call
Bring Q is an active-participant pilot, not an automatic note-taking service. It starts a fresh private room using synthetic markets data. It cannot bring your existing private rooms, files or signed-in accounts into the call. Meeting attendees do not automatically become SideQuest room members.
- Use an approved account and stay present as the operator.
- Get the host’s permission and everyone’s agreement before inviting Q to process meeting audio, speak, work or present.
- Use a Google Meet link. Microsoft Teams, calendar invitations and inviting Q by email are planned; no Q email address is available.
Invite Q and confirm who is present
Q starts paused. A participant joining or leaving pauses the session again; confirm the new audience before resuming. Do not treat a participant’s display name as proof of their identity.
- Open the pilot while signed in, paste the Google Meet link and review the permission and bounded-work confirmation.
- Choose Invite Q, then admit Q · SideQuest in Google Meet when it asks to join.
- Back in SideQuest, choose your participant under You in this call. This is your confirmation of identity, not an identity verification by Google.
- Review the people currently in Meet, confirm their agreement and choose Confirm audience and resume.
- Address Q deliberately in speech, or type a request under Ask or redirect Q and choose Send to Q.
Try the bounded working loop
These working-loop controls are implemented, but the complete computer → meeting presentation → spoken revision → save/reopen sequence has not yet passed live-call acceptance. A completion notice may be text-only; ask Q a follow-up when you want a spoken explanation.
- Start with a synthetic-data request, such as ‘Q, compare the sample markets and show the result.’
- Check Work for progress. Choose Ask Q to present if you want to grant presentation access; it can wait for a result to become ready.
- Inspect the generated presentation. It is Q’s shared result, not unrestricted access to its desktop. Human screen sharing takes priority.
- Ask a deliberate follow-up to revise or explain the result. Check the presentation version and the separate Saved work state.
- Use Open this pilot’s room and work to inspect the result as the sponsoring account. Wait for Saved before assuming it can be reopened later.
Pause, hide the presentation or disconnect
Use Remove Q when you want meeting access to end. Fully saved, completed work is preserved; unfinished or uncertain work can be canceled. Pausing is not a privacy disconnect, and seeing a presentation is not proof that work was saved.
| Control | What happens |
|---|---|
| Pause Q | Stops Q speech and new work and cancels unfinished work. Q can remain connected, with live meeting processing still running. |
| Stop presenting / Cancel presentation | Hides the shared result or withdraws the pending presentation request. It does not stop the task. |
| Confirm audience and resume | Resumes permitted activity after you confirm your participant and everyone currently present. |
| Remove Q | Requests disconnection and cleanup. In-flight work can take time to stop; check the final session status. |
Pilot limits and retained work
The pilot processes live meeting audio and participant events. SideQuest keeps accepted Q requests, replies and saved work; it does not create a full ambient transcript or an external-meeting recording library. The 20-minute session limit is not a deletion deadline for that saved work.
- Up to 20 minutes and 20 accepted Q requests per session.
- Up to three fresh pilot workspaces per approved account in a rolling 24 hours.
- One active session per sponsor and meeting, with two active sessions across the service.
- A definitely rejected invitation may offer a retry to its original Meet link, only while the original workspace remains unused. Do not create repeated invitations while a join or removal is uncertain.
Planned: invite Q through email and other tools
The proposed future flow gives Q an invitation identity, so an authorized person can include Q in a calendar event or forward a meeting invitation. Teams participation, native chat connections and scoped result follow-ups are also planned. These are not current setup steps, and no mailbox, calendar connection or automatic attendee email is available today.
Feature access and limits can change. Check availability and planned work.
