Troubleshooting
Check the account, room, controls and save state before starting over.
Troubleshooting for the public browser product, with separate notes for restricted pilots.
I cannot open a room or invitation
- Check that you are signed in to the account that accepted the room invitation.
- Confirm that the invitation is for a room, not only a company. Company membership does not grant room access.
- Ask the owner for a fresh invitation if the link expired. Collaborative invitations last seven days; account-free guest invitations are single-use and last one hour.
- For Interview or Client guest access, wait for host admission. An ended or expired session cannot be reopened with its old invitation.
Q cannot hear me, or I cannot hear Q
Pausing Q on one device does not pause everyone else. Muting Q locally also does not exclude its shared speech from a room recording.
- Check your browser’s microphone permission and the room’s microphone and Q listening controls.
- Look for Q is listening. Captions are a display setting and do not switch listening on or off.
- Check Q voice, your device volume and any Enable audio prompt. Listening may wait while Q is speaking.
- Type your request if speech recognition is unavailable. Interview and Broadcast private Q, and Client Shared Q, do not provide the Collaborative voice experience.
A task or result appears stuck
Another member’s computer is not part of your personal workspace. A shared presentation can be visible even though only its requester can inspect or continue the saved computer work. The new Tasks list and saved activity replay are awaiting release.
- Check whether the task was explicitly started or is still a proposal waiting for your confirmation.
- Read its status and error. A usage limit, unsupported private-account action or unavailable service may require a different request or a later retry.
- Separate execution from saving. If the result is visible but the workspace is not saved, use the save retry when offered and keep the error visible.
- Return to the same account and room to inspect saved work. Closing the tab does not stop accepted background work; use Cancel task when you mean to cancel.
Recording cannot start or play
- Confirm that this is a Collaborative room and that the owner is requesting the recording while connected to the call.
- Check whether someone still needs to acknowledge. Later arrivals are excluded until they agree.
- Read any capacity, duration or storage message before trying again.
- After stopping, wait for a ready recording. Processing or failed capture is not a playable file. Check for deletion or the 30-day expiry if a formerly ready file is unavailable.
A pilot is unavailable or paused
When reporting a problem, include the time, room or session, intended action and visible error. Omit private conversation content and secrets unless a support process specifically requires an appropriate, secure way to share them.
- Bring Q requires an approved account. Use the pilot page’s state; its presence on the website does not grant access.
- After Q joins Meet, select your participant and confirm the current audience. A roster change can pause Q again.
- If invitation or removal status is uncertain, do not repeatedly start another session. Check the existing session and seek help through your pilot contact.
- For an agent connection, check the account, granted context access and expiry. An empty search can also mean the result is bounded or your connection lacks that permission.
Feature access and limits can change. Check availability and planned work.
